Coaching Program (Grades 9-11)
The goal of the Coaching program is to prepare students to become both competitive college applicants and motivated, confident and mature individuals. These core qualities are both traits that top-tier colleges are seeking and also a great foundation for lifelong success. I provide the following services individually tailored to meet each student's needs and goals.
College Research & Selection - Self & Career Assessments
- Gain a strategic understanding of the college admissions process.
- Develop a well-researched, balanced list of “best-fit” colleges that fit your learning style, academic profile, preferences, career aspirations and finances. This list will include top-tier universities, powerful second choices and back-up options.
Strategic High School Course Planning
- Develop a personally coherent, meaningful curriculum plan assuring correct type and level of classes are taken for target colleges.
Detailed Standardized Test Planning
- Comparison of SAT vs. ACT. Recommendations for best standardized test tutors and resources for preparation.
- Review of score reporting and its impact on test taking preparation and strategy
Growth-Oriented Extracurricular Planning
- Extracurricular activity planning
- Development of Passion Projects
- Identify relevant summer internships, service or volunteering projects, paid/unpaid jobs that complement your academic and career goals
- Creation of High School Accomplishment Summary - to present extracurriculars in the most compelling and complete way
- Preparation, and practice for selective college interviews
- Athletic profile for colleges (if applicable)
- Creative resume in music or art
Self and Career Assessments
- Self-Assessments - Strengths, Skills, Interests, Core Values, Goals, Learning Styles, Motivation, Obstacles to Success, Personal Mission Statement.
- Career and College Major - Evaluate academic interests, skills, aptitudes, values and strengths and connect these to an academic major and potential career fields.
Craft Your Personal Brand
Gain a better understanding of your passions, interests, skills and life goals. Craft a personal brand that is personally meaningful and will help you stand out above the rest.
Problem Solving & Overcoming Obstacles - Life Management Skills
- Everyone has obstacles that they must overcome to achieve their goals. I help students assess their obstacles, develop problem solving skills, and work with them to tackle their obstacles. In a supportive yet challenging way, I help students remove barriers to their success and achieve their fullest potential.

I am available for face-to-face college admissions consultant meetings if you live in Santa Barbara, Ventura, Thousand Oaks, Westlake, Calabasas or any of the surrounding areas. I also regularly conduct meetings via Zoom or Facetime if more convenient. For out of area students meetings are done via Zoom or Facetime.
