As a second year community college student I was not making much progress. I didn’t find the academic counselors on campus very helpful and I was not finding a major that I felt passionate about. A friend of mine had heard about Mr. Lorenzen, who is a college counselor, but it took me a while to contact him because I figured I couldn’t afford his help. He worked with me on a price that I could afford and he helped me focus on what I wanted to major in and possible careers. After a month of meeting with him on a weekly basis, I found a major that I really like and decided on some colleges that I wanted to transfer to. Matt also helped me choose the right classes and I was able to successfully transfer in a couple of semesters. Without his help, I would still be lost. Matt helped me get into my first college of choice. I couldn’t have done it without him. Not only did he help me with my college essay and application, but he also helped coach me on test anxiety in preparation for the SAT.
